Traveling Through Egypt

My trip to Egypt.

My journey through Egypt was not fun. In Cairo, everyone kept trying to take advantage of the tourists. You get in a taxi…they say one fare…get to your destination…they say another fare.  They even tried to block me from getting on a bus….lied….said the bus was broken….and that I had to ride another. I got angry ….lost my cool….started screaming…..and everyone got out of my way.

On seeing the Pyramids?  After you see them…..then, you have seen them. I won’t say anymore about that.

One good thing: I met Wee Leck (from Singapore…now a surgeon in London) and my friend Diane (in the lovely Charleston, South Carolina.)  We all took a cruise down the mighty Nile for a few days. The cruise ship was at it too….order dinner….and a glass of water was not included….little things like that – that make you not want to go visit again or makes you bad mouth it to your friends.  I cannot tell anyone not to go see the Pyramids….I understand that desire…..but, an extended stay there? I don’t recommend it. As the airplane was departing Cairo….people from the world over were all saying pretty much the same thing.

But, hey…..that’s just me. For some, it may have been paradise.

Better let Egypt set the pace – you’ll enjoy it better that way
