Mcleodganj is a small peaceful Hill Station in Himachal Pradesh( India ). My son Abhishek had a school tour of This beautiful Hill Station, He was excited to share his experience with my Triond Friends. Please read the details in his own words….

McLeod Ganj

Mcleodganj  ( Himachal Pradesh ( India )

This Beautiful small hill station is situated in Himachal Pradesh and you can reach this hill station by road from the nearest railway station Pathankot. Pathan kot is a overnight train journey from The capital of india New Delhi.

I was very much excited as my school planned 4 days vacation trip to this beautiful hill station , This hill station is different as Our guests from Tibet and their Holy Leader Dalai Lama also reside here and i was very much desperate to meet them.

We started our journey from New Delhi Railway Station , we were around 100 school mates along with my fast  friends Arushit and Karan , Due to some reasons My Friend Joy could not go, to whom i really missed.

The whole night in the train we did not sleep and the night was full of songs , jokes and great sharing.Morning  when we reached Pathankot Railway station Our Bus was ready for Mcleodganj and it took around 6 hrs, to reach at Mcleodganj. this was very exciting journey and we were thrilled to see deep valleys and peaks of mountains.

Mcleodganj is a beautiful place full of natural beauty and you feel as if you are in Tibet because the culture , the majority population , the temples and their holy head Dalai lama’s resides there only,

The restaurants menu  full of Tibetan dishes and this was something new taste fot us.

The beautiful calm hill station situated at around 2000 meter above the sea level is full of lush greenery surrounded all over from snow covered mountains , and it looked like paradise , no pollution like our cities.

The places we visited .

wavy water fall , a beautiful fall , we took bath in ice cold water …. and it was soooo cold.

Chinmay Tapovan , silent and beautiful

Bhikshuk Temple , full of devotees , all peace and calm ,  every body praying Lord Buddha ,

Mall road , we all did shopping for our family members , it was full of Tibetan culture.

Tea hills in Palampur , beautiful tea gardens ,

Old memorial , full of ancient memories ,

and the night at our hotel was full of music and dance , we were accompanied by delegates from USA , with whom we all enjoyed whole night,

This trip is a life time memory  for me and i am sure you all also must be remembering your school trips , which remain a memory for whole life.

I thank my parents for allowing me for the trip and the school management for such good arrangements.

What a great experience for your son. I enjoyed reading all about it and the pictures are so interesting and so different from our towns and cities, other than the picture of your mountain, which is very much like our mountains in north Georgia.
