A place many still haven’t heard about and those who have, have been grossly misinformed. Well here’s a chance to know the facts.

Have you ever heard of a place called NIGERIA? It’s a country on the west side of Africa, we usually call it the trigger of the continent because when you take a closer look at the map of Africa it’s like a gun and we are right where the trigger should be. Nigeria is the trigger while South Africa is the mouth piece.

It is a country located right on the equator for which reason it sometimes get very hot. It’s a very sunny country but it also has the rain forests where it rains a lot. It is dissected by two major rivers; the rivers Niger and Benue, these rivers are let out into the ocean at the south end of the country in tributaries.

There are some amazing facts about Nigeria that I find rather interesting and I would love to just share them with everyone.

Did you know that Nigeria:

  • Is the largest black nation in the world with a population of over 140 million people – in other words, no country on the face of the earth has more black people concentrated in one place as Nigeria. You know when you go to some places and it takes you ages to see a black skin amongst the whites, well that’s how it is here, you’d have to look hard before you see a white skin.
  • Is also the most populous country in Africa and the eight most populous country in the world.
  • Is the tenth largest crude oil producer in the world. Some of the best crude is found right here.

  • Derived its name from the words Niger and Area and got its independence from Great Britain on the 1st of October 1960 and later adopted the presidential system of government as opposed to the British system.
  • Has the flag colored Green, White, and Green – the green representing agriculture while the white stands for peace.

Nigeria is a next world super power in the making. It has made an incredible impact in the world in different sects. All it needs is focus and it will be a country to reckon with.

Many have come here and have been awed out of their minds at what they’ve seen. All have agreed that what they heard and read is the total opposite of what they saw; well like I always say ‘it’s better seen that told’. Don’t you think?
