Australia: Big, Rugged, and Beautiful

by Anna Storer on 02/10/08 at 11:40 am

Australia is the land of opportunity, a great place to live in, and the tourist destination of the world – but beware of the crocs.

Many who have visited have been in awe of what we have to offer in the way of beautiful beaches, wildlife sancturies, the vastness of ‘The Outback’ etc.

Every State and Territory has something different and unique to offer, especially Queensland.

Ah! Queensland – and in particular the Tropical Far North where I have the Great Barrier Reef at my front door and Tropical Rainforest for my backyard!

But Alas! Every now and then tragedy strikes. Our headline news right around the country – 1/10/08 – ‘HUNT FOR MANEATER’.

The search is on for monster croc., about 6 meters long that authorities think has taken a man near Cooktown.

So, if you decide to visit us, take the time to find out where the dangers are and heed the warning signs. Local authorities will be only to pleased to give you information.

Everyone is welcome, whether you are from Interstate or Overseas.

Enjoy your holiday – Be Smart – Stay Safe!

Thank you Judy for your input. Up-date is – The search has been called off – so far some of the man’s belongings have been found. However, given the nature of the vast area where this tragedy occured, hopes of finding any human remains is slowing fading. What the authorities are doing now, is setting croc traps, and as each one is caught, is to see what their last meal was. Unfortunately, this is the only way to find out what happened to him.

P.S. Thank you for accepting me as your online friend. God Bless you and all your loved ones. – My Motto is – ” Be Smart – Stay Safe!

UP-DATE – Two very large were caught and they will be examined to see what their ‘last meal’was. The reptiles WILL NOT be harmed. They will be re-located bacek into the wilds away from populated areas.

Also Australia is full of Taipans, Brown snakes, wasps and spiders waiting to bite if you disturb them.

Thanks
