The Arts Factory is the perfect get-away from high stress city life.
The Arts Factory is an incredible place to take a much needed holiday. It was created in the 70’s and painted by hippies and artists, both local and international. This backpackers retreat is a true gem;cheap, comfortable and the perfect place to meet new people from all over the globe!
With wonderful workshops on several times a week a traveller can learn anything from jewellery making to how to make a Didgeridoo!

The main ‘hang-out’ of the Arts Factory accomodation area sports pool tables, a great cafe and plenty of benches to eat at or spend the afternoon reading and relaxing.
In the evening check out the beautiful Bhudda Bar restaurant or lay back and truly relax at the Byron Lounge cinema.

It is located a short walk from the beach and the shops where just about anyone can get in touch with their spiritual side. The laid back atmosphere and vibe of Byron Bay is contageous.
Women are in for a special treat with the near by Tea Tree lake, which according to native Aboriginals is a special bathing place just for women. The Tea Tree Lake is part of the Tyagarah Nature Reserve and all year round the lakes teem with birds, wallabies and reptiles. One may encounter some nude bathers due to the privacy of the region and the old myth that the Tea Tree lakes can restore fertility to women.

The Arts Factory is a magical place. You can easily forget yourself there and stay much more than you planned to. I was there in 2001. Awesome place!
