Discovering Delhi

My first impressions of New Delhi and India.
Delhi
Dust everywhere, covering the trees, in my hair, my mouth and my nose. Chaos, confusion and cacophony, people, traffic everywhere, hustling and bustling, raucous horns constant in the hot air. The sun hidden by a hazy trail of smoke and dust. Love it or hate it the people are in my heart and my senses. A thousand emotions confusing my heart and spirit, never letting me forget.

Delhi Station Delivery Yard, close to the Railway Station. The Ginger Hotel was clean and well managed, with all facilities including Internet, the staff helpful and friendly. we frequently dined in the Compesum Restaurant there, where the food was delicious and ridiculously inexpensive, the amenities spotless and the service, efficient, speedy and friendly.

Connaught Square whose architecture and design, so nostalgic of the British Empire’s era , reminisced of a bygone age while nearby locals traded their wares depicting the reality of today’s economic climate.
India
A changeling, constantly moving between beauty and squalor, the culture embracing the ancient and the new ages, her people, warm, noisy and hospitable, poverty everywhere but sharing a constant generosity.
