Alleppey: The nick name of Alleppey (Alappuzha) is “Venice of the East”. The enchanting backwaters of Alleppey will steal your heart by its famous “boat houses” called as “Kettu Vallam”.

It is one of the main attractions of honey moon celebrators, for those who cannot afford to fly to foreign nations like Venice and Switzerland to sail in the romantic boats. The annual Nehru Trophy “Snake Boat Race” is held on the second Saturday of every year August.
