Local trains of Mumbai are considered to be the heart beat of Mumbai. It is also nicknamed as “Local”. It is said that Mumbai comes to halt only when its local trains comes to halt.

It is said that they carry maximum passengers in the world. They are the best service providers. But, at the peak hours trains coaches are like gas chambers. The trains are too crowded. The view is so horrible that a faint hearted person can’t withstand the shock. The average density per square meter becomes almost equal to the density which could be achieved only by rats.

Also, the tracks are like a labyrinth for the train drivers, which are so badly interconnected that there is always a danger of meeting with some accident but luckily tracks were never been the cause of any accident in the past.

But, then whatever is the situation, all Mumbai residents are proud of their local trains. It is also said that a person can never experience the true flavor of Mumbai unless and until it travels in a local train.

So, whenever you get a chance to visit Mumbai do travel the local trains of Mumbai and enjoy the experience. It would be an experience which you won’t forget in your life.

Nothing will ever beat riding a long distance Indian train. Try bottom class – I’ve never gone any higher than that and never will.

hey rask,
probably you haven’t travelled in mumbai local…..you travel once and i bet, you will change your thinking…because i have experienced both types of journey.
