Destinations in Uttar Pradesh
An amazing and vast land full of striking contrasts, striking shades, striking architecture and the changing lingo on every mile, this state is the largest in India in terms of population, and was also the largest in area among others, unless the succession of Uttranchal, which broke from UP to become a separate state.
A land of immense diversities, this land has been blessed with incarnations of 2 of the most important gods; Lord Rama & Lord Krishna. This place has also produced some of the greatest names in our history, including Rani Laxmi Bai, Tatya Topey, the great kings Harshavardhan and Akbar. It is a magnificent land full of temples, numerous holy places situated on the banks of the rivers Ganga & Yamuna, and also the city of Allahabad which is the confluence of these two great rivers and their third tributary Bhagirathi. Fatehpur Sikri
37km from Agra lies the ghost city that was once the capital of Mughals in India. This city was built by Akbar between 1571 and 1585. With the fine efforts of archaeological survey of India, the city is well preserved as it was built. The city presents a great example of the mixing of Mughal and Hindu style of architecture. The famous Fatehpur Sikri mosque was actually built on the lines of the holy mosque in Mecca. Through the entrance of the mosque which is called the Buland Darwaza, a 54m high imposing gateway; you enter the inside the complex which has the mausoleum of Salim Chisti, the Sufi saint who blessed Akbar to have a male offspring.
Mathura
This place is more famous for the Hindu god Lord Krishna. Situated on the banks of river Yamuna, this place is also the birthplace of Lord Krishna, who is said to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This place has been a sacred pilgrimage for Hindus from centuries. This is place where every overseas tourist prefer to visit during their India tours.
Sikandra
This place is the final resting place of Akbar the great, the greatest of all Mughal emperors who ruled the country. The rows of arched domes and their overlooking gateways present a great site for visitors to this place.
Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh is known for switzerland in India.
