During his recent state visit to Egypt, Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared that Iran is already a nuclear state and the world powers must now treat it as sch. So, why no Western main stream media is reporting this? And what we can now expect from Iran?
These are the questions many of us ask ourselves after learning this important news. Frankly, I think the West with its now carefully controlled news outlets does not know what to think about it and whether to even believe it. It is also a source of great embarrassment for them, especially for the United States.
The administration in the White House has made a huge mistake by supporting the uprisings in Egypt, Libya, and now Syria. They realize by now that these are Islamist revolutions and the new governments will not act in the best interest of the United States. In fact the entire free world will pay dearly for this and now they see that they also got distracted by it from Iran and thus allowed it to become a nuclear state run by fanatics.
Not a good prospect for anyone. The west therefore needs to learn a lesson from this and pay more attention to what the regime in Teheran is both saying and doing. In one of his interviews Iranian president said that it would be a folly to attack United States or Israel when having just one atomic bomb, which tells me that they already have one and are working on producing more while Mr. Obama tries our more diplomacy and pressures Israel not to act.
It remains to be seen what his approach to this issue really is now when he visits Israel next month, but we should not hope for any change in his tone. The situation is really difficult because whatever Israel and the western nations decide to do will bring grave consequences.
If they strike Iran now, then the Mullahs will make good on their promise of blocking the oil transports from the Persian Gulf to much of the world thus causing big oil crisis and global economic depression. But if they wait, the world might have to face a nuclear war. Not a good prospect either way. May God give wisdom to all the decision makers and mercy on the rest of us.
