Great sightseeing places in Tokyo!
If you like sightseeing or travelling, Japan is the place for you. It’s an unique country with lots of things to see including temples, shrines, parks and a lot more!
Brief information about Tokyo
Tokyo is home to some 20 million people. It’s extremely busy and has a pretty complicated train network. Nevertheless, its a fun and interesting place with lots of great places to go!
Sightseeing attractions
There are many places you can go to. Browse down the following list until you see something that you like…
Tokyo Observatory Tower – Located nearby Hyatt Regency Tokyo, this observatory has two buildings, the North observatory tower and the South observatory tower. These two towers face different ways and go up to an amazing 45 floors! Located on both towers on the 45th floor are cafes and souvenir shops.
How to get there – Go to your nearest subway station and take train(s) to Shinjuku station, where you should follow directions to the Hyatt Regency Tokyo hotel. From there, you should be able to see the Observatory Tower.
Imperial Palace – Grab your chance to view the palace where the current Monarch lives. Unfortunately, you will not be able to go in, but this won’t stop you from taking pictures and enjoying the environment around you. There are guards around and a moat, and feel free to stop by the royal gardens and take a rest in the soft grass.
How to get there – Go to Ginza station and stop around there before making your way to the Imperial Palace (ask information centres if needed).
Ginza – For shopoholics, this is genuine paradise. Filled with department stores and mini shops, selling almost everthing you can find, you will never want to leave this place. Also neraby is the Imperial Palace (see above).
How to get there – Go to your nearest station and take the train to Ginza Station (try the Maranouchi or Ginza Line).
Asakusa Temple and Theme park – This place is for people who love temples, theme parks and stall shopping. At this place there are giant lanterns to see and take pictures as well as a extremely long walk full of mini stalls for you to shop at for souvenirs and red bean cakes (yum!) Also here is a theme park, including a flying temple ride which soars tens of metres into the air in an open frame.
How to get there – Take your train at your nearest station to Asakusa station at the end of the Ginza Line.
Ueno Park – This is a giant park with lots of things to see. There is a giant fountain in the middle of the park, as well as temples to visit. There is an area where you can write notes and your wishes for others to see or just to leave your makr behind so others know that you’ve been there. Other attractins in Ueno park include statues and seasonal attractions/events.
How to get there – Take the train to Ueno station on the Ginza line.
