An overview on the top seven most beautiful islands of Malaysia.
Malaysia is a country with many famous islands – places for activities such as fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. In this article, we’ll take a short tour to some of the most popular islands in Malaysia.
Location : It is located in the North Western part of Peninsular Malaysia, off the coast of Kedah state.
Why is it famous?
Langkawi is a group of islands consisting about 99 islands. The main part of Langkawi is actually pretty large and it is famous for its white sandy beaches. There are many things to do here such as enjoying the island-hopping, snorkeling, visiting ancient historical sites (this island has a very rich history) or if you’re lucky, you will be able to catch the annual Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA).
Getting there : You can choose to fly to the island’s Langkawi International Airport or travel by sea via ferry from Penang or Kedah.
Location : North Western part of Peninsular Malaysia, near to Perak and Kedah states.
Why is it famous?
Penang’s capital Georgetown has recently been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique architectural and cultural townscape. It is also home to many famous temples such as the Kek Lok Si temple and Snake Temple. Besides that, one can also enjoy the beautiful beaches along Batu Ferringhi or indulge yourselves in the countless local delicacies. We don’t call Penang as the heaven for food lovers for no reason.
Getting there : To travel to Penang island, you can either take a plane to the Penang International Airport, a ferry from Butterworth to Georgetown, by bus or by other road transportations which will use the famous Penang Bridge.
