Davao is the largest city in Mindanao and also a progressive city. They have their own international airport and seaport. It has a population of over one million and is mostly known for the fruit Durian. Davao also has the best beaches, diving spot, mountain resorts and Mount Apo as the highest peak in the Philippines. Davao from Manila is accessible by boat twice a week and by plane with daily flights.

What to do in Davao.

You can visit the Crocodile farm which is the home for locally bred crocodiles and this is where you will find the biggest crocodile in the Philippines which called the Pangil or fangs in English. It measures of about 18 meters. You can feed reptiles, go horseback riding or just enjoy the view.

The Philippine Eagle Center is the home for Philippine Eagles, the national bird. The Philippine Eagle was previously known as the monkey eating bird, the largest eagle in the world. This center is where they bred the eagles to increase their population and this is located in Malagos, about 45 minutes from the Davao proper.

Paradise Island is located in the Samal Island is famous for their white sand beach. Pearl Farm Resort is also located in the Samal group of Islands. This Pearl Farm resort was once a pearl farm where you can find thousand of white lipped oysters that produces, pink, white and gold pearls.

While you are still in the Samal Islands, you will also need to visit the Maxima resort that has the longest water slide in the Philippines. It measures to about 40 meters that is made of canvas.  They also have the canopy walk.

The next to try is the Davao Wild Water Adventure. This is a 15 kilometer adrenaline rush ride on a water raft down to the Davao River. Before you have the ride of your life, you will be given a basic lesson on paddling and of course you will be accompanied by experience paddlers.

The Zip city is adrenalin rush activity in Davao also. You can have a 360 degrees view of Davao City. This Zip city is located on the Hilltop diversion road and the zip line is about 310 meter cable with an elevation of 120 to 200 feet off the ground.

There are many more to see in Davao like museums and more parks. Do not leave Davao without tasting their famous fruit Durian. This is the king of the fruits which has a very unique smell, thorny husk and a large size. This is very sweet as well.
