Seven of the most populated provinces are located in the island of Luzon, 2 from the Visayas and one from Mindanao. The Top 10 Smallest and Largest Philippine Provinces have been presented. It’s time for the most populous provinces.

The Philippines largest province n terms of population is Cebu. It has a population of 3.84 million people and its capital is Cebu City, the country’s oldest city. The province is located in Region VII and is consists of 168 islands. Notable islands include Mactan and Malapascua.
The province is the country’s most developed province. Other cities in the province include Mactan, Danao, Lapu-Lapu, Mandaue and Talisay. With Cebu City, these cities form part of Cebu Metropolitan Area. The island of Cebu also holds the distinction as the 7th best Asian-Pacific and Indian Ocean-Asia island destination.

The second most populated Philippine province is Negros Occidental. It is also one of the 10 largest provinces with a population of 2.86 million people. It is located in Region VI and its capital is Bacolod City – one of the best cities to live in the Philippines. The province of Negros Occidental is regarded as the country’s “Sugar Bowl”. One notable tourist attraction of the province is Maskara Festival.
The 3rd most populous province in the archipelago is Cavite with a population of 2.85 million people. It is located in Region IV-A or CALABARZON and its capital is Imus. Cavite is one of the 8 provinces that revolted against Spain in 1896. The province is located 30 kilometers south of Metro Manila.
