These are the five best destinations in the Philippines that are ideal for weddings: they are all very secluded, solemn, romantic and the views are breathtaking! Truly the greatest places to make memories.
1. Boracay, Aklan
There’s nothing more romantic than getting married on an isolated beach island surrounded by nothing but clear, turquoise water, tall coconut trees and powdery white sand .
Boracay is known for its ability to evoke the romantic in anybody who’s ever visited the island. You can either get married right by the shore , set up a few chairs and head straight to the reception area (a short walking distance away–barefoot of course!) and party until dawn.
Another option is to hold the wedding in one of the small-town churches (I know of one just behind Station 1 , right beside Escondido Resort) and then head to one of Boracay’s many restaurants that offer fine dining options of various cuisines.
Here are a few suggestions for the best Boracay reception ever:
- Friday’s Resort (Station 1)
- Discovery Shores (Station 1)
- Aria (Station 2)
- Zuzuni Cafe (Station 2)
- Boracay Regency (Station 2)
- Cafe del Mar (Station 2)
- Cyma (D’Mall)
2. Tagaytay, Cavite
If you’re looking for a a venue that’s closer to nature that’s not too far away from Metro Manila (hence, lesser transportation costs), then Tagaytay is your best bet. Weddings held in Tagaytay are most nostalgic for their dramatic views of the Taal lake and volcano , as well as the cool weather that is a large contrast to the humidity of the Metro .
Here are some suggested venues in Tagaytay that are ideal for weddings and receptions:
- Taal Vista Lodge (magnificent view of Taal lake and volcano)
- The Cliffhouse (you have a wide array of restaurants to choose from that specialize in Italian , French and Filipino cuisine)
- Sonya’s Garden (wonderful garden of herbs, very relaxing and romantic)
3. Intramuros, Manila
This very historic place is known for its cobblestone streets , old Filipino-Spanish rustic architecture and of course, the very beautiful San Agustin Chuch , which is also one of the most popular churches to get married in Metro Manila .
There’s almost endless choices for you to hold your reception after the mass , since everything’s pretty much in the Metro . You can either:
- Stay within Intramuros and dine at either Illustrado or Bistro Marinero
- Head to Sofitel Manila for dinner by the bay with a breathtaking view of the sunset
- Hold your reception at some of Manila’s best hotels : Shangri-la Makati or EDSA, Intercontinental Hotel Manila , The Peninsula Manila , Discovery Suites , Dusit Thani Manila or Diamond Hotel .
- Popular venues for rent such as NBC Tent in Bonifacio Global City or The Esplanade near Mall of Asia in Pasay City .
This remote island province 200kms away from the norternmost tip of Luzon would probably be the most dramatic wedding venue of all, with its powerful waves slapping against cliffs, unusual geographic landscapes and lush greenery.
The newly-erected chapel in Tukon, Batanes is breathtaking with its stained-glass windows , hand-painted ceiling decorations and pews made out of recycled hardwood . It was just opened to the public when Batanes Representative Florencio Abad’s daughter Julia was wed to Andrew Parker on May 3 of 2008.
5. Fort Ilocandia
If you’re willing to go on a road trip or are located a short distance away Ilocos Norte , then Fort Ilocandia is the best wedding venue for you.
You can either choose to hold your wedding or reception in their huge garden or at the beach , which has a long stretch of white sand . The hotel has this feel of the post-Colonial Spanish era with its rustic architecture and interesting artwork . It was once the favorite vacation spot of the Late President Ferdinand Marcos , who used to spend hours on the golf course .
I’m sure that you’ll find the perfect spot for your wedding arrangements with these beautiful places. But keep in mind that this is only a top 5 list ; there are a whole lot more beautiful places in the Philippines where you can have a wedding that is not only memorable , but breathtaking and nostalgic as well. Happy planning!
