Article featuring the Summer Capital of the Philippines.

Baguio has acquired an epithet as the summer capital of the Philippines. While most areas in the Philippines are seemingly roasted during summer, Baguio remains to be literally cool. No wonder why tourists here and abroad consider it as the place to go when the imminence of summer is felt giving rise to the tourism industry and the popularity of the place.

Aside from Baguio’s well – renowned temperature, the place also boasts of the towering pine trees, the refreshing flowers, the magnificent landmarks, parks, and edifices, the fresh and succulent vegetables and strawberries, and the long, winding, foggy, and hilly roads.

When people get to the place, they couldn’t stop the craving to have a boat ride at the Burnham Park, to wear Igorot costume and to go horseback riding at the Mines View Park, to get a glimpse at the country’s premier military academy, the Philippine Military Academy, and to get in touch with nature at the botanical garden. Visiting the place is one great opportunity of knowing the people’s culture and history, and getting connected with antiquity.

In addition, the place takes pride of its clean living and peace loving people. Crime rates are still low and manageable. It’s one great city where you can have an active and enjoyable nightlife. One can walk along the streets of the place feeling safe at night. While the place used to be solely associated with the Igorots, whose cultural heritage remains to be an attraction among tourists, it is also a home for warm and hospitable people whether Igorots or non – Igorots.

Forget about the Candy Pangilinan prank. Baguio has become one of the country’s best tourist destinations not only because of the rich culture of the Igorots, but also of the variety of stuffs the city can offer to every visiting tourist.
