One of the hottest tourist places in the world is Singapore and not only arts and its unique culture but it is also famous for leisure, eateries and natural spots.

Singapore is also known is City of Lions, though there are no lions found in Singapore. Singapore is a nation formed of a big island and other small islands. The big island is connected through land with Malaysia. The word Singapore is derived from “Singapura” a word from Malay language that means City of lions.

There is no mystery unsolved regarding the name of the nation but it is liked with a historical event. According to the legend a person known as sung utama came to Singapore, when Singapore was known as temasek and what he was able to spot on the island was a lion. From they’re on the word “Singapura” or city of lions was derived and the island came to be known as “Singapore

very well researched about the name of Hongkong, “the city of lion”. wish you can do a research to about the “land of the orient pearl-Philippines”.
