The Aspery Hotel is one of the newer hotels in Patong. It is situated on the Northern hill and about a ten minute walk from the nightlife, shopping and restaurants.  It is only about a 2-3 minute walk down the hill to the beach. With the hotel being located at the Northern end of Patong, the beach was a little quieter which was great. The hotel actually charged no extra rate for having visitors stay the night, if you are in to that sort of thing.

I was very happy with my room. It was not as spacious as I would have liked but was comfortable enough. There was a king size bed, which was quite firm, a reasonable sized bathroom with a good shower unit and a nice balcony. I also had a flat screen TV with a very good choice of channels, tea and coffee making facilities at no extra charge, free WIFI internet access and 2 free complimentary bottles of water per day.

I was a little disappointed with the swimming pool. In the heat of Patong it is good to have a decent swimming pool. The Aspery’s pool was very small and a real sun-trap as it is located on the roof top. Even though there were some good views I think the hotel could do with a pool upgrade.

I very much enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning. This was included in what I had paid for my stay at the Aspery. There was a great spread of foods including an egg station, pancakes, sushi, noodles, freshly squeezed juices and much much more. It was good to just fill up on breakfast and then have a small snack in the afternoon before dinner. I found this to be a bit of a money saver. 

There were not too many other amenities at the hotel worth talking about. There is a very small gym and a day spa but I didn’t use them and wouldn’t recommend others to. There are much cheaper day spas if you go out into the streets of Patong.

I did very much enjoy my stay at the Aspery and would visit there again. However, I do think that it cold do with some improvements.
