Turkey is a country that gives you all that you would expect and more. It has really incredible food in every region which you may choose to visit and a special warmth and friendship from all the people. Istanbul, which is the capital city of Turkey, will provide you with many spectacular sights and the most spectacular is the amazingly beautiful Blue Mosque.

Wherever you go in Turkey you will discover absolutely incredible food, every region has its specialities and each and every dish is a wonderful new culinary discovery.

These dishes also include an amazing selection of Turkish appetisers. But the gastronomic main course delights are dolma, the famous stuffed grape leaves, kuzu güveç, a lamb casserole with tomato okra, peppers and eggplant, k?fte, a dish made with ground meat and doner kebab.

If you are really indulgent try these other Turkish delights as well, lokum, helva, and kaymakl? kuru kay?s? Just ask, discover and enjoy.

The Turkish people are especially friendly and once you have had a cup of tea or coffee with any one of them they will then treat you as a friend for life and always have a welcome for you in their home.

The culture of Turkey owes itself to the fascinating mixture of secular, Christian and Muslim society that has existed for many centuries in this country.

Many of the historic buildings show the influence of this cultural mixture and there are numerous museums across Turkey where visitors can see the fabulous artefacts of the country and its times gone by.

Spend some memorable time visiting the Blue Mosque in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey. This impressive architectural wonder was constructed by seventeen year old Sultan Ahmet who created it as repentance for his frequent misgivings at the harem.

The Blue Mosque was completed in 1616 and Sultan Ahmet died later in the same year at the age of twenty seven. What he managed to produce is an amazingly beautiful structure with its interior completely adorned by Isnik blue tiles of many different styles and designs.

The main tower contains one hundred and seventy two steps to the very top of the tower which provides a wonderful panoramic view across the entire landscape of Istanbul city.

Turkey, once you visit it you will want to return again and again.

Istanbul is not the capital city of Turkey. It is Ankara. Istanbul was the capital city of Ottoman Empire. But Ankara has almost nothing special.
The rest is great :)
