When considering a vacation in Singapore it is worth noting that aside from the main island, there are also 63 surrounding islets you may wish to tour. This fact makes Singapore an ideal destination, one that offers an abundant supply of entertainment, culture and magnificent scenery.

Singapore is a major commercial centre; its success in this area far surpasses what would be expected of an island of its size. This is largely down to its location, ideally placed at the southern tip of the Malaysian peninsula where two bridges link the Island with Malaysia.
Thailand and the Philippines are extremely close to Singapore; most people tend to take a trip to one or both countries at some stage during their holiday.
On the Island itself, when looking for things to do and see, the first port of call is most definitely Orchard Road. This is a well-renouned shopping avenue full of high quality malls, stalls, restaurants and any other kind of commercial unit one can think of. International designer labels like D&G, Armani and Calvin Klein can all be bought at a fraction of their usual price. There is nothing that can’t be bought in Singapore and more importantly, in comparison to western prices, everything is extremely cheap.
When you’ve had enough of shopping take a visit to the Malay Heritage Centre, to Singapore’s National Museum and to the Asian Civilizations Museum. These three places will provide you with the best examples of the history and culture that defines Singapore and will also give you an opportunity to explore artefacts from other Asian civilisations.
The Night Safari is an attraction that proves very popular with all age groups. With over 1,200 animals in 8 zones created to look like various geographic regions, this Zoo is truly something quite unique.
Changi Village is another essential stop; it is home to a beautiful, clean beach that can be enjoyed all year round due to the constant sunshine. A honeymoon destination could ask for little more. Ferry rides to the surrounding islands should also be part of your itinerary and will give you a wonderful look at the contrasting worlds that make up this beautiful country.
