Floods in a Desert?

It is perhaps one of the most breathtaking natural wonders of Brazil.

Located in Maranha, Brazil, there is a giant desert, called Lençois Maranhenses.

What makes it amazing, is that between June and September, the water which comes from rains starts filling the dunes. Although these lakes appear all over the year, in this months they are bigger, and blue-green coloured.

Despite of being a desert, rain levels can reach over 1.600mm a year, which is almost 300 times than the Sahara.

It is said that this is one of the places that you should visit before dying!
