Eiffel Tower in Mexico

The Eiffel Tower is not one of a kind. Who knew?

The Eiffel Tower; a mass of steel weighing in at 10100 pounds, it stands a whole 324m above ground. It is Gustave Eiffel’s most well-known project; named one of the seven wonders of the modern world. When you hear Eiffel Tower, you think of that huge building in Paris; that place you wanted to go. You know what I’m talking about, the romantic paradise where you could do all the shopping you wanted. Or, at least, that’s what I used to think of. Now? Not so much.

So what else could come to mind when one thinks of The Eiffel Tower? Well, none other than a very over-sized chimney located in Baja, Mexico. I know what you’re thinking; what does that have to do with good old Eiffel? Well, he built it actually. That’s right, there are two Eiffel Towers! One is just vastly more popular than the other.

I took a trip to see the tower personally, and to be honest I was a bit underwhelmed. It just looked like a huge chimney, which really, is what it is. It wasn’t what you could call one of Eiffel’s finest achievements. But, all the same, it is a little interesting to know that the Eiffel Tower is not one of a kind, and that you can in fact see one in Mexico as well as France.
