Two Days in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta Mexico is a world-class mexican seaside paradise that offers some of the best sport fishing in the world. They offer fishing charters for everyone from the novice to an experianced fisherman.

Rates run you from $100 for a half day and $200 to $250 for a full day. That price includes the boat, your fishing gear, bait, and a charter captain. The more seasoned that your charter captain is, the better he will know what fish to seek for the season and the best spots to go. In the months of  Jan., Feb., and March the sailfish, marlin, Dorados (better known as dolphin or miah miah), and the tunas are prime catching.

While you are visiting Puerto Vallarta, you must seek out the shops in the central squares of the city. Since they use pecos for their currency, you can litterally find anything for pennies on the dollar including some of the most beautiful mexican art that you have ever seen. TAnd you know how men love to save money. The locals are very curtious and make it a shopping experiance that you soon won’t forget. Make sure that you stop at the local taco stands while shopping so you can experiance that authentic mexican taste. They serve a dish impaticular that is one of my favorites. It is called the Christian and is a bed of rice served with black beans on top and then topped off with tomatos, onions, and celantro served with a side dish of green chili sause and chips.

Afterward, you can take a taxi (pronounced taxis in Mexico) to their wide sandy beaches that are perfect for afternoon strolls this time of year with the temperatures in the mid 70’s. Make sure to pack that light sweater though. When evening comes, the city becomes alive with the great sounds of the Mexican mariachi music. They have lights strung up all around the downtown area squares and provide out door dancing  along with food and drinks. It is truly a festive experience.

When evening comes, you can retire at one of the thousands of quaint little villa suites that they offer up and down the coast. And that itself is a wonderful treat. You awake to the smell of the fresh ocean air and to the sounds of seagulls on the morning beaches. Most of the villas offer a complimentary breakfast but graciously accept tips. And the most amazing is that you can do all of this for as little as $500.

So for great sports fishing, authentic Mexican food, shopping, dancing, and a romantic night in a beach front villa, Puerto Vallarta Mexico this winter is the place to be.

So for great sports fishing,
