Machu-Picchu, An Inca City
When I looked at photos from Machu-Picchu, I though I was looking at the Mayan villages in Cancun Mexico, as it turns out, I was looking at photos of Peru.
The only reason I began looking at this City is because for over 400 years the stories that came out of that region was considered fiction. The Inca legends of the once powerful city finally got some attention when an archaeologist, Hiram Bingham finally started to make some discoveries after so many failures by other archaeologist in the past. The information of the great city began to become know in 1911, Hiram found the city of Machu-Picchu, which was ruled by the Incas. The city was about six hundred thousand square miles, starting at the Pacific coast, high into the high Andes, some time during the 1400’s.

This great and powerful empire included lands now know as Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Bolivia as well as Peru; it was indeed a very large area. After the discovery of this region it was seen that this advanced civilization had built some of the most amazing structure known to man. As is the case with the Mayan villages and the pyramids in Mexico, some of these great structures were found on top of mountains as high as three thousand feet above the Peruvian valley.
Other than their architects’ abilities, there is not much known about the people of the Machu-Picchu city. It is quite amazing how they manage to build such impress structure without the proper tools, to avoid earthquakes in areas that are known for them, and other natural destructive weather conditions.
