One of the old mysteries in the South Pacific is Easter Island, a volcanic island. It is believed that the 600 amazing stone heads are 2000 years old. These stone heads are solid piece of rocks, carved well to form faces alike and are placed throughout the island.

These stone heads have a weight of around 70 tons and they are about 20 to 40 feet above the surface of the earth. All of these heads have no eyes and are incomplete in their architecture.

It was never found out why the building of these stone heads was left incomplete but it is believed the natives of the island came from Peru. In 400 A.D. there was a war between the natives and people from South Sea Islands. The people who invaded are called short ears and the natives are called long ears.

The short ears were not able to interpret the writings of short ears and were not able to further continue the work of building the stone heads.
