Things to Do in The Dominican Republic

by SharifaMcFarlane on 25/04/11 at 3:02 pm

The Dominican Republic is a Caribbean nation known for meringue music and dance.

The Dominican Republic is one of the best places to visit for a relaxing beach vacation and fun with sports and adventure activities.

The weather on the island is pleasant, since the Dominican Republic has a maritime tropical climate all through the year.

Where is the Dominican Republic?

The Dominican Republic shares the island of Hispaniola with Haiti. It is located in the eastern two-thirds of the island.

The Dominican Republic is a Latin American country and Spanish is the official language of the country, although English is spoken by many people in the major cities.

Weather in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Punta Cana is one of the popular tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana offers access to the rest of the island via the Punta Cana International Airport and is the location of the residential community of Corales, which is home to Julio Iglesias and Oscar de la Renta.

Punta Cana is a very relaxed location, and many visitors choose it because of the feeling it gives of being secluded from the rest of the world. It is also a bit cheaper than some other Caribbean destinations.

The weather in Punta Cana is good all year round, with temperatures averaging 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The worst time to visit Punta Cana is during September and October, since this is when hurricanes are most likely to develop.

The best time to visit this region is in late spring and early summer, since this period has the least amount of rainfall.
