Barbados in December
Every Christmas in Barbados, children accompanied by their parents, come out to enjoy the traditional Bajan Christmas parade. The Bajan Christmas parade is a parade of decorated vehicles such as trucks, snowmen and the children’s favorite cartoon characters.
Some of the trucks in the procession carry choirs of children or adults singing popular Christmas songs. Other trucks in the procession play modern popular Christmas songs and include a Christmas carol or two from years gone by. Children also enjoy traditional Christmas sweet treats given out as the parade goes through the city.

Barbados Climate at Christmas
Barbados and other islands in the Caribbean do not experience snow. Instead, the temperature in the Caribbean islands drops a little as it gets closer to Christmas. During the Christmas season, a cool, soothing Christmas breeze can be felt throughout all the Caribbean islands.

The Barbados climate at Christmas is ideal for the bright red color change associated with plants such as the poinsettia. The beautiful red and green of the poinsettia is seen in many homes and offices in Barbados and Jamaica at Christmastime.
Throughout the rest of the year, the poinsettia is green, however as it approaches Christmas and the Barbados climate changes, some leaves of the poinsettia change to red.

Sounds wonderful, I have red poinsettias in my home now. We always bring them in at Christmas. When I had space I kept them in the dark after Christmas and planted them in my yard in the spring.
