Disney offers a plethora of entertainment for guests and visitors each and every day. One very popular aspect of Disney is it’s live shows and parades. But how to know which ones to see and which ones to skip? Just follow my recommendations below and you are sure to have a fantastic time.

One hugely popular live show that is well worth the admission is Down Town Disney’s Cirque Du Soleil’s La Nuba. It is a permanent attraction in down town Disney and is 90 minutes of soul moving, artistical performance.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can dance along with Buzz and Woody in the Block Party Bash. This is a parade that makes several stops along the way, so your family is sure to get a kick out of it.

Another great one in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Fantasmic night show. This showcases how Mickey’s dreams turn quickly to night mares, and includes Disney characters, laser lights, spectacular fountains, and floating stages.

Inside the Magic Kingdom, be enthralled with the fireworks show called Wishes. Jiminy Cricket and Pinocchio’s Blue Fairy narrate the moving story of the power of dreams. This one is a definite must see.

The other must see inside the Magic Kingdom is the SpectoMagic. It is a night time parade featuring an explosion of color and sound as a million points of light winds it’s way through the park and electrifies the night.

Also, everyday at 3pm the Magic Kingdom features the Disney Dreams Come True Parade. This has all your favorite Disney characters dancing and singing their way through the Kingdom, and the Dream Along With Mickey is one that is shown several times a day and features lots of kid friendly fun and singing outside of the Cinderella Castle.

If none of those appeal, you can check out Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade inside of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s a moving parade with entertainers on stilts, The Lion King’s Rafiki leading the way, and joined in fun are Mickey and Minnie, as well as Goofy and Pluto.

Epcot features Illuminations- Reflections Of The Earth for those of you into the laser lights and water shows. A bit similar in concept to Hollywoods Fantasmic, it is still a spectacular sight to see.

At Disney’s Fort Wilderness you can enjoy a meal and a show. The Hoop-De-Do Musical Revue is an all you can eat dinner buffet featuring fried chicken, BBQ ribs, and other classic American fare, as well as lively musical entertainment.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom you can be enthralled with the latest Broadway quality Finding Nemo Musical. It uses the new style of puppets with the puppet masters in plain view, and a completely enchanting show that you must put on your to do list.

As you can see, live shows and parades abound inside Disney World and all of it’s parks. These are a handful of the brightest and most enjoyable and popular. You will of course see much more than that once you are inside the parks, but this gives you a great starting point to try to help you map out your day.

Hi, I’m M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E. Just call me Mickey, OK? First of all, welcome to Disneyland Park- the happiest land on earth. Today, I’ll become your tourist guide. Get yourself ready and let’s start our tour now. I hope you enjoy the trip! Here we go…

Disneyland was the first Disney theme park owned by the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division of The Walt Disney Company, and it was opened on July 17, 1955. Disneyland was the idea of Walt E. Disney, an artist who created the cartoon character of Mickey Mouse. He wanted to establish a park, in which the families could have fun, and there his dream fulfilled when the first Disneyland was built in Anaheim, California in 1955. He hoped to bring Disneyland as a source of joy and inspiration to the entire world. Indeed, Disneyland has become a huge hit for both adults and children!

There is also a plaque at the entrance of Disneyland stated that “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow and fantasy.”

Sleeping Beauty Castle

Sleeping Beauty Castle is a building situated in the center of Disneyland Park and Hong Kong Disneyland Park. It’s the oldest and best known building of all Disney castles, with several dioramas depicting the famous fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty.

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland reaches a height of 23.5m and its pink castle is surrounded by a moat where swans swim. To enter, please follow me to walk across a drawbridge.

Adventureland

Image source Image source Image source

Adventureland takes you to far off places like Africa, Asia, South Pacific, Middle East, South America and desert islands. This themed land was opened on July 17, 1955 and it features a theme of the remote jungles of the above mentioned places. In almost one place, you could picture a diverse civilization, which of course makes your adventure here worth a penny. Exotic animal statues, Congo drums, architectural crafts of Pacific, tribal performance mask and non-American totem poles are some of the notable features here. Jungle Cruise, Tarzan’s Treehouse, and Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room are three main attractions in Disneyland, while Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye is a renowned tourist spot at Tokyo DisneySea theme park in Chiba, Japan. The trips to these places are absolutely enjoyable!

Mickey’s Toontown

Where can you see Mickey Mouse and all your favorite Disney characters? In your PC game, Nintendo game, shows, cinemas, TV screens or newspapers? Where can you meet and enjoy the ride with the character of Mickey? Of course, your dream can be fulfilled by visiting Mickey’s Toontown which was opened to the public in 1993. At Tokyo Disneyland, it’s called Toontown.

Here, it’s a home of mine as it houses the house of Minnie Mouse and Mickey Mouse. The establishment of Mickey’s Toontown, has notably raised my global status as the most popular kid idols as well as the most popular cartoon characters.

Main Street, U.S.A

Main Street, U.S.A. brings you back to a typical Midwest town 100 years ago. At Disneyland, it even has horse-drawn trams.

There is a train station above the entrance for each Main Street, U.S.A. However, this service is not available at Tokyo Disneyland.

Tomorrowland

Not enough with this ride? Alright, how about have a wild ride on Astro Orbitor? Come and experience yourself, it’s indeed an exciting ride here as it depicts numerous exciting views of the future. Give yourself a chance to participate in the adventures of Star Tours, I Shrunk the Audience, Disneyland Monorail, Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Innoventions, Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Station, and Autopia.

Critter Country

Here, we come to a place called Critter Country which was initially a home to Indian Village. It was opened in 1972. The notable spot to look for here is Splash Mountain. It’s a log-flume journey and the idea of the creation of Splash Mountain was actually inspired by the Uncle Remus stories of Joel Chandler Harris. The mountain ride here is really thrilling and unforgettable! You should never miss it!

New Orleans Square

New Orleans Square which was opened on July 24, 1966, depicts a theme on 19th century New Orleans. Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean are two well-known attractions here. Hey, wanna to meet pirate? Here is the place. Come here and meet Captain Jack Sparrow.

Hello, Captain Jack, shall we have a drink at Club 33?

Fantasyland

Fantasyland is a world of storybook. The characters of the story become “live” here which are served as a source of creative inspiration among the youngsters.

A few helpful hints to make traveling easier.

As school comes to an end for the summer, usually this is a good time for families to take vacations. So if your traveling this summer with kids, here are a few helpful tips to make traveling a little smoother. Hope this helps!

Plan out rest room and food breaks. Now of course this only applies to you if your driving. If you and your family are taking a road trip, make sure to look up where you will be stopping for meals and rest room breaks.

Snacks. This one is beyond obvious. Kids love to snack. So make sure that you bring plenty of snacks for them on the trip. Not only will this keep them occupied, but it will save you money! You won’t have to worry about stopping for every meal or buying snacks at a gas station cause you will have your own. Try bringing things like fresh fruit and veggies as a healthy addition.

Comfort items. This is aimed more towards younger children. When they are away from home, you really want to bring a few things that comfort them and remind them of home. This could be anything from a blanket, stuffed animal or favorite movie. This way they are more relaxed.

Entertainment. Depending on the age of your children, you will want to make sure to have the appropriate types of entertainment for them. When they are older of course they are able to bring things they want to do, but for the younger ones you will want to make sure to help them out a bit. Bring a portable dvd player, books, music players or toys. You don’t want to bring things that are big and bulky, but things that are travel friendly. My son really enjoys his dvd player and the movies are really easy to pack.

Identification. Depending on where your going, make sure that you have the right identification. Traveling with children can be tricky sometimes if you are going to another country. You will want to check the policies of the country that you are going to. For example, when traveling from the United States to Canada you will need a passport for anyone over the age of 16. If your child is under 16 you need to have their original birth certificate or a passport alternative. On top of that, you need to have written permission from your child’s mother or father, if both of the parents will not be on the trip.

Taking your family on a world trip may sound crazy, until you read about the benefits.

My whole life, I have been bombarded with the message that you need to travel the world and have all your adventures at an early age. Definitely before you get “settled” with a regular job, a regular wife (or husband), in a regular house, and have regular children. Because by then, you will be trapped in a boring life and never go out and DO something again.

Get that lie out of your mind! If your college days are over, that is NOT the end of your life! And if you’re still in the “adventure age”, you might want to think about taking a few trips now, but postponing your trip around the globe for a few years: there are a number of specific benefits of doing so.

My parents’ friends took their young teenagers around the world for nine months! They visited all kinds of exotic countries, and even joined organized events like “spend two weeks with Chinese farmers and learn what their life is all about”.

Why is it a good idea to travel the world with your kids?

You will have much more money available because you’ve been working a number years.

Your children learn much more than they could ever get from the text books in school.

Your family will become a more closely-knit unit than you could ever imagine.

You are more healthy and fit for traveling than after retirement.

When you are old, you do not need to tell those “when I was young” stories about your travel adventures, that your children find inspiring but also difficult to relate to.

But aren’t there a lot of practical problems? I mean, what about my job?

If you’ve worked for more than 10 years, you can take a break and find a new job when you return.

Where do I get the money?

If you need to keep working just to make ends meet, you are living in luxury and / or your house is too big. (Of course, some people are not highly educated and work poorly paid jobs. In that case, it really is difficult to get out and travel the world – though hopefully not impossible).

My children can’t just quit school…

Sure they can! There are good correspondence school programmes available. Just make sure they do all their homework and send in their tests on time!

The bottom line is: There is life after marriage! The adventure is not over yet! Take your family around the world, because it will be one of the most rewarding activities of your life.

Kid friendly car features that make your trip easier.

I am going on seven years since I moved away from family. It was the farthest I have ever moved from family. About every three or four month I push to take the trip to see my family. This mean I have to place three small children into a small area to ride for a minimum of four hours to be able to see any person belonging to my family. Over the years I have tried many ways to make the trip easier including planning the time of day so little guys will take their two hour nap on the road, eight stops along the way, and packing a large amount of entertaining items. Automakers have worked on making our cars more kid friendly as well and so I looked into what features are kid friendly.

Rear seat viewing devices gives us the ability to see into the back seat to determine who is doing what to who. I find this a great safety device because if you don’t have one you are either trying to look over your shoulder or in the end pulling the car over. Being able to glance back takes a lot of the unnecessary irritability while driving.

I am not to sure about DVD and Video games being added as car features. The DVDs I like because if your children are old enough for a DVD to hold their attention while on a long trip then it can be a huge help. I am still unsure about the video games. I can see having some issues with them, but once again if they can hold the attention without fighting with each other it can be a help.

Seat warmers and cooler are not new, but for those of us who happen to still have leather seats with children always hear the early winter morning complaints of having cold seats so to be able to warm up the seats while waiting for the car to warm up as well, or cool off, saves complaints and provides comfort. Yet there is also the piece of me that still has the time where you bare it for a few minutes the seat will warm up too. So I vote luxury not necessity with this one.

Along with DVD or Video games, I like the idea of having headphones. They can enjoy the movie or game without me having to listen to it. At the same time, my four year old will like the idea too instead of trying to talk me into playing music when we are only going to be in the car for a ten minute drive generally followed by the eight times he says he can’t hear it as he likes it loud. With headphones, most like the idea of 12 volt outlets to be able to plug in other devices. This I can under stand for older children who have these devices, such as laptops.

On summer days I always hear the comment about how the sun is in their eyes. One of my sons even asked me to move the sun. We have the attachable shades for babies and toddler, but can be used on the rear window. So now we have sunshades, which can be used on the back window to reduce sun on our children and glare without blocking our view.

One feature I like is build in booster seats. All of us know our children have to be in a boaster seat until they are eight or eighty pounds. I am a tiny person and my sons are tiny people compared to the children their age. My tall and skinny eight year old is still in a boaster seat because he no where near eighty pounds. As I will have other children in boaster seats, it will mean buying more then one like the $90 each five point harness seats I had to buy. Having build in booster seats mean they are there when we need them and hide them when we don’t without having to pay the extra for the seat itself.

I have never been are remote control sliding doors, but if it is anything like being able to open the truck by remote then it’s got to be good. Trying to direct children while carrying more then a handful it interesting itself, but to be able to hit a button and the doors open for them makes it not just much easier, but I don’t have to worry about them standing somewhere unsafe or wide open car doors blocking other parking spaces.

Next falls backup cameras or sensors. Although I don’t have the forgotten toys in the driveway problem at the moment, it is also nice for trying to get out of a packed parking lot or, for me, it’s the wondering children through the apartment parking lot.

Lastly, safety always make the top of the list. Advance airbags fall into a necessity. Side impact air bags, curtain air bags, and the recent two stage air bags. Two stage air bags inflate at first with less pressure then other air bags. Air bags do protect a person in an accident, but their as been a lot of concern with the force they have all on their own. The two stage air bag addresses this concern. The side impact or curtain air bags have gave us the ability to move from just protecting the driver and passenger from front impact, but to protect back seat passengers and everyone from side impact.

The safety features of airbags, booster seats, and backup cameras help us to better protect our children while driving. The convenience of remote control sliding doors, movies, and video games not only make our children’s time in the car on long road trips more fun, but makes our trip easier as well as gives us the ability to concentrate on our driving more then what are kids are doing. This means a more safer trip for everyone.

If they have a hand-held games console invest in a new game and give them it on the plane, it should buy you a couple of hours at least!

Make sure they are dressed in comfortable clothing and shoes as it can be pretty uncomfortable on a plane at the best of times.

Let them bring an mp3 player with their favorite music on it.

Let them bring their own bag with snacks in it, so they can have something to eat when they choose.

Talk to them about the routine on a plane, for instance, the security demonstration so they are relaxed about the whole thing. After all, relaxed kids = relaxed parents!

A beach vacation is what I really need right now. After giving birth to my daughter, the opportunity has not arisen for the entire family to have fun at the beach. Why do I love the beach compared to other destinations? Here are 10 reasons why I simply love hanging out at the beach.

Sun

It’s not that I don’t get much sun where I live. In fact, we get a lot of sun here. But when you go on a beach vacation, you don’t get too bothered when the sun gets too hot. You enjoy it. Over here, when the sun gets too hot, we complain that we perspire profusely since we have things to do and places to go.

Sea

What is it about the sea that has a calming effect? I could just sit at the beach and watch the wide expanse ahead of me. The waves makes you feel like you are being swept away into paradise. You forget about all the stresses at work and simply enjoy the water lapping at your feet as you focus your vision into the horizon.

Sand

I love stepping into soft white sand. Walking on a sandy beach is my favorite. Whenever we go on a beach vacation, we will walk the length of the beach from one end to the other. It can be tiring because your feet has to walk on uneven surface as you plunge into the soft sand at every step. But I still love it. I can’t wait to make sandcastles with my daughter. I think she’ll love it too.

Sky

Why is it that the sky is so blue whenever we are on a beach vacation? Why is the sky not so blue where I live? I have always wondered about that. Is it only me who thinks that way? It’s just so different. At the beach, there doesn’t seem to be a single cloud in the sky and you could really enjoy the clear blue sky. Unlike where I live, the sky is often filled with clouds, sometimes threatening to rain.

Seagulls

Seagulls are fascinating creatures to look at. They will fly high and suddenly swoop down into the water and catch a fish in its beak. How do they do that? It’s amazing.

Sunbathe

I love to show off my tanned skin after a beach vacation. It helps put a little color into my fair skin. I don’t like to just lie around sunbathing, I like to do other things in the sun such as read a book, eat an ice-cream or swim. Seeing my sunburnt cheeks at the end of the day gives me great satisfaction.

Swim

I’m not a good swimmer. So, normally if I’m at the beach, I will just play in the water, feed the fishes with bread or try to look for my husband who has dived into the water and has not surfaced for awhile.

Sunrise and Sunsets

Why do I get so excited to wake up early in the morning to catch the first glimpse of the sun as it rises? But I don’t feel that strong urge when I’m at home. And at the end of the day at the beach, watching the sun slowly disappear in the horizon winds down the beautiful day.

Seafood

Another thing I must have whenever I’m at the beach is the seafood. It’s nothing like having great barbecued crabs, prawns and fish at the beach. Yummy!

Solitude

But the great thing about the beach is the feeling of solitude, even if you’re with someone you love. You just feel at one with God’s greatest gift of nature. Your mind breaks free and you feel calmer and more relaxed. That’s why I love the beach so much.

When you're traveling, it can sometimes seem that it takes forever to reach your destination. Here are 10 travel games you can play to make the time go by faster.

A long trip by car can seem to take forever. The whole family, particularly the kids, can get restless in anticipation of reaching their destination. Why not use your travel time to play some unique travel games? Here are some suggestions for travel entertainment:

Name that musical tune.

Put your car radio on the “scan” feature. When a new song comes up, the first person to identify the singer gets a point. Tally up points and declare the grand prize winner when you reach your destination.

Count horses by the roadside.

Divide your family into two teams. One team is assigned to one side of the road and the other team covers the other. The object of the game is to count the number of horses each team passes on its assigned side. A tally of horses passed for each side is kept. The team with the larges number of horses counted when you arrive at your destination is declared the winner.

Create a unique story.

The first person starts telling a story by saying the first line. The next person in the car adds the next line and it goes around and around until the story reaches its climax. This game will bring out the creative story telling talents of your travel companions.

Play a rhyming game.

The first person things of a word and announces it to the group. The next person has to come up with a legitimate word that rhymes with the first word. Each person takes turns coming up with a rhyming word. The first person who can’t come up with a word that rhymes is eliminated. The game continues until everyone is eliminated except the winner.

Write a poem.

The first person in the car starts by voicing a sentence of their choice. The next person follows up with a rhyming line. Each subsequent family member contributes a rhyming line. Pretty soon you’ll have a unique poetic creation. This game is guaranteed to keep you laughing.

Play the alphabet game.

Start with the letter “A”. The first person to point out an object that starts with an “A” gets a point. Proceed through the alphabet to the letter “Z” (That’s going to be tough unless you’re in Africa and come upon a zebra). The person with the most points is declared the winner.

Have a spelling bee.

Have someone bring along a dictionary or thesaurus. One designated person goes around the car asking how to spell certain words. When a participant is unable to spell the assigned word, he or she is eliminated. The last remaining person wins the spelling bee.

The license plate game.

Make a list of all 50 states on a sheet of paper. As a car with a license plate from that states passes you, check it off the list. See how many boxes you can check off before reaching your destination.9. Name that capital.Have each family member monitor the license plates on the cars they pass. The first person to name the state capital for that particular state gets a point. Count up point totals when you reach your destination and declare a winner.

As you can see, there are a variety of fun things to do on the way to your travel destination. Why not give some of these ideas a try?

Make your ultimate sandcastle in nine steps.

Requirements:

Shovel and round bucket (the kind you use for making little sand towers.

Step 1:

Find a good spot on the beach to make your sandcastle. You would want the sand to be a little bit wet so you should go somewhere near the sea (about 10 – 15 meters away). Now, with your spade, make a line revolving full circle around you. You do not have to move around but simply rotate your body along with the spade.

Step 2:

The first part of the castle that you are going to make is the moat. So right on the outside of the circle which you have just made, start shoveling in the sand and continue to follow the line until you are about 20 centimeters away from where you started. That extra bit will become the bridge. I recommend taking each step backwards after every time you take a spade-full of sand instead of working forwards (it’s easier this way). With the pile of sand you have on your spade each time you shovel, toss it in the middle of the circle. The moat should be at least 20 centimeters deep all around.

Step 3:

Sometimes chunks of sand will break around the edge of your moat; here’s a trick to stop that from happening: about 10 centimeters away from your moat, put the tip of your shovel into the ground. What you are going to do now is you are going to make a slope. The top of the slope starts 10 centimeters away from the original moat while the bottom of the slope ends at the corner (the corner closest from where you stand) of the bottom of the moat. I probably haven’t explained this very well. Maybe this diagram of the finished moat will help you better to understand what to do.

Again, with the pile of sand you have on your spade every time you shovel to make the slopes, put it in the center of the circle – you should have a mountain of sand once you finished step 2. As you can see on the diagram there should be slopes on both sides.

Step 4:

Now, in the moat you need to flatten the sand so that it has a smooth surface all the way round. You also might want to smear some extra chunks of sand out of the moat (and once again, toss it in the center of the circle) which will also make a nice and smooth surface on your moat. Step 3 is just to make your moat nice and neat, so if you want go straight onto step 4; go ahead.

Step 5:

Now you will you will use your bucket. On the opposite sides of the bridge make one tower on each side, by putting sand in your bucket (make sure it’s wet sand, but not too wet) and then quickly turning it upside down on the surface. Your two towers should out side the inner circle and moat but still near to where the bridge starts.

Step 6:

All you need to do for step six is smoothen up your mountain of sand which you should have laying there in the middle of your circle, by flattening the sand a bit and with both hands smear the necessary sand, starting from the bottom of the mountain all the way to the top – this will also make you mountain taller. Do this all around the castle.

Step 7:

Now use your bucket to make eight towers all around the mountain. That will be all for step 7.

Step 8:

This is the penultimate step to making your best sandcastle. Take your spade and lightly hit the top of the mountain tip until it has a slightly bigger surface diameter than your bucket. Once you’ve done that, take your bucket and make the final tower on the top of the mountain.

Step 9:

Finally, do what you did for your moat but instead make it a straight line heading out to sea. The channel should best be about a meter long. So when the sea comes in, it will flow through that channel and flow around your moat as well.

Final touches:

Using a side of your index finger or whatever finger you want to use, press into the mountain (not too hard) which is now a magnificent sandcastle and keep doing that until you’ve reached the top tower. These prints are supposed to indicate as stairs. Do this two or three more times elsewhere on your castle and it will fully complete. Voila!
