A Walk Through the Monaco Exotic Garden

Can’t wait for the Summer? I take you to an enchanting place to discover giant cacti and succulent plants thriving so well on the French Riviera.
The unique Exotic Garden of Monaco, on the French Riviera, is located on a rocky cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. It was created in 1933 in a heavenly setting. It features an outstanding collection of more than 1000 cacti and succulent plants from all over the world (North and South America, South Africa, Arabian Peninsula…) that have been perfectly acclimatized in this admirable place. The species were brought from arid areas, accounting for their name « exotic ». This is where the oldest cacti in Europe are thriving and among them woolly cacti from South America, giant prickly pears, aloes and agave. The plants blossom all year round according to each species and give superb colorful flowers. Crassula and aloes bloom during the Winter whilst most species are in bloom for the Spring or Summer. Great care is given by the team of experts gardeners so as to shelter, protect and reproduce these extremely rare plants.
A greenhouse completes the visit as well as the Prehistoric Anthropology Museum presenting archaeological artifacts from Monaco and the surrounding region. You can also enjoy the deep Observatory Cave with its curious stalagmites.

Great pics of cacti, i keep some in my en-suit bathroom and they thrive there but sadly we can only keep them outside in the summer as our winters get far too cold
Keep up the good work my friend,
All the very best,
Aaron
