I remember traveling to Austria thinking (at least subconsciously), that it would look something like the images shown in the movie “The Sound of Music”. Austria really was a beautiful country, although of course it wasn’t quite the same as it looked on television. What appeared to accurate; however, was that some of the local people at least could sing, and sing well. This became evident when I was being entertained by a group of people wearing their national dress, singing, dancing, and playing instruments for those toursits present.

Austria really was a sight to behold with its shops, offices, and other buildings. It really looked like something out of Noddy or some othe child’s book. There were numerous shops selling all sorts of nick knacks in the hope tourists would buy them. Without a doubt Austria is a European Treasure which I believe should be visited more often than it is. It really is a country time has forgotten at least that is what I thought as I observed my surroundings.

While I hadn’t been in Austria long enough to experience it had to offer, I thought I saw just enough to want to return and appreciate its scenery, and culture as it really is a European Treasure for all the world to see.
