Croatia with its Mediterranean coastline enjoys nearly three thousand hours of sunshine each year. Exceptionally beautiful beaches and the really vast amount of little islands to explore are just some of Croatia’s wonderful features.

Croatia is a truly sensory experience, which will stay in your memory for the rest of your life. Everywhere that you choose to explore your senses will be treated to many delightfully satisfying sensations.

Whether you are just soaking up the sun on one of the many beautiful Croatian beaches, taking in the spectacular scenery or sampling all the mouth watering culinary delights, your senses will be on overload.

The Croatian coastline is so very beautiful because it contains well over one thousand islands. When you look out to sea along the whole stretch of the Croatian coastline, you will always see a small green area of land in the distance.

Most of the islands are small and uninhabited, but there are twenty quite large islands which are popular with tourists. The Brijuni Islands are the main group with two large islands and twelve smaller islands.

The islands were the summer residence of President Tito and over the years, almost one hundred foreign heads of state and many famous film stars were received by Tito on the islands.

Since 1983, the islands have had National Park status and are fully open to the public.

Croatia is one of the world’s most culinary advanced countries, with an amazing range of wonderful dishes to enjoy, such as oysters and many other tasty shellfish which help to dominate the nation’s reputation.

Each region of Croatia has its own food tradition. The northeast region of Slavonia has a spicy cuisine with many meat and game dishes. Next to it is the Hrvatsko Zagorje and Medimurje regions, famous for sweets and dumplings.

Homemade cheese and roast dishes are eaten in middle Croatia and Dalmatia is well known for fresh fish and its light, simple Mediterranean cuisine. Croatia is famous for black and white truffles, which are favored in Istria, a region which is described as a gastronomic oasis.

Along with its many culinary delights, Croatia offers an excellent range of wines to compliment your food of choice.

Wherever you explore in Croatia you will discover that the cultural and culinary delights are an experience for all your senses.
