Fred and Ginger: The Dancing House of Prague, Czech Republic

An unusual Prague tourist attraction, the modern architecture of this “Dancing House” is worth the short metro ride to see it. Affectionately nick named “Fred and Ginger”.

Looking for something modern in Prague, and a worthwhile tourist attraction? Try going to see the dancing house, nicknamed “Fred and Ginger”, which is really The Nationale Nederlanden building. The nickname comes from the building’s resemblance to two dancers, and the famous dancing pair Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. One part of the building has curves like a women’s body, and the other has a mop of “hair” on top. The building has also been called the “drunk house”. It is in sharp contrast to the beautiful Gothic and Neo-Baroque in the Prague center. The building stands on the riverfront near one of the bridges often crossed by taxis coming from the airport, so keep your eyes open on your arrival.

On the roof of the building is a French restaurant with breathtaking views of the city.
You can find the building at Rašínovo nábřeží 80, Praha 2. Take the metro to the Karlovo namesti station, and turn left as you exit, go around the corner and walk down towards the river.
