A Holiday to Remember Forever

About a trip I took to Paris just two years ago, which I enjoyed a lot and had a great experience.

On February 13th 2007, I went to Paris with one of my best friend. It was a great experience which I enjoyed a lot. It was also unique because it was my first time going to France. Although the trip did not start very well with the tour guy (Rabi William) who came an hour late. We were to suppose to meet Mr. Rabi at Waterloo Station at 7:15 am but he turn up at 8:30. When he came he did not even say sorry for being late.
We left Waterloo Station at 9:15 instead of 8:15 am. By 11-30 we arrived in Paris. During our trip we meet a guy in his 20s who spoke good French. He was half English and half Saudi. He started talking to us about trip. He said he is going to Paris to meet his girl friend, which he has not seen in five months. Although we were not interested in his conversation but didn’t wanted to be rude to him. We enaged in talking to him until we arrived in Paris. He was a funny and strange guy. As soon as we arrived in Paris we were informed by Mr. William that our bus would be late, which was the last thing we were expecting. Finally the bus arrived at around 1:30 pm and our tour started from Paris International Station through the city. The bus driver stopped the bus at certain places for about five minutes so that everyone had a chance to glance.

After our tour around Paris and the Eiffel Tower then we went to the hotel where our rooms were not ready, despite the fact we were late. After waiting for an hour so at the lobby of the hotel, finally we had some good news that our rooms were ready. We were tired and hungry, and we needed it to rest first before going to eat and exploring Paris.
After resting for an hour or so then we went out in search of a restaurant, as we walked through the small streets of Paris, we approached a Moroccan Restaurant where we had Moroccan food. It was the first time for me and my best friend to have a Moroccan food. We both liked it. When we entered the restaurant a middle aged waiter greeted us in a very nice and polite way in French, which we did not understand but I could only assume. He only spoke French and did not understand a word of English. I noticed that it was a Moroccan restaurant so I tried to show off my Arabic, to be honest I don’t know much, but luckily I could communicate.
When we finished our dinner then we went to explore a little bit more of Paris. It soon became dark and as we were tired we went back to our hotel. At around 10:00 pm I went to bed which was really strange for me because as long as I remember it was the earliest time I have ever gone to sleep. As the night passed by we woke up early in the morning and had a breakfast.
Although it was cloudy and cold day, we went to see one of the most beautiful museums in Paris, and the ticket was cheap. It cost only 8 Euros which I thought was a really good bargain. The museum was a great experience for me, as I love antiquities and history and I could somehow feel a connection to the museum. I saw the influence of Islamic civilisation in Europe. I noticed that every statue and paintings had their own story to tell. There were lots of antique from Middle East and Asian countries including gold, silver plats, coins and Afghan and Persian carpets, which are very popular around the globe.

After the museum, we went to pay a visit to the place where the infamous film Da Vinci Code was shot. In the evening we went to dinner at our hotel, which had a delicious food. After the dinner we took a boat trip around Paris which was a great fun. The boat trip was around 45 minutes to one hour journey that took us through one of the most important parts of Paris including Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower and other historic places. It was nice to see the lights in Eifel Tower and I had a great fun in that particular cold night. Everyone in the ship were excited and happy. Some were taking pihotos, others were having fun.
As the night came to an end, we headed back to the hotel and made plans for our last day in Paris. The next morning when I woke up and looked at the window, I saw it was raining and the weather was cold. Although it didn’t look so good for our last day in Paris, but we were there to enjoy, so we decided to go along with our plans and enjoy as much we could.
We toured each and every major tourist areas of Paris and sent some postcards to our friends back home in England. I bought gifts for my friends and shoes for myself (thanks to credit cards). After our shopping and our tour of Paris, we had lunch then headed towards to the hotel as time was running out. As we prepared our luggages and waited in the lobby for others, lucky our bus arrived on time. It was a good experience and I had a fantastic time. I enjoyed the food, the people and it was one of the best trips so far. Most importantly I had a great company along the way which I enjoyed the best. To be honest this particular person brought a great joy to my trip, which I would never forget and I loved the whole experience.
