12/8/08

Today I have been driving for a long time (ten hours and forty minutes to be exact) and I have just gotten to the air force base in Washington D.C. We go bowling on base to wait until our flight gets out. Then we got back to the terminal and wait a while and we are all hungry, so my dad and I go and get pizza before the flight. When we are done we get on a C-17 medivac. Then we fly seven and a half hours to Ramstein, Germany.

12/9/08

We arrived in Ramstein, Germany, this morning. Somebody in the terminal stamped our passports, and then we take a shuttle to air force inns. From there we get a room and rent a Mercedes Benzes C class. Next we took the car to the BX and got cameras. We are all very tired so we went to chili’s. I got the monetary chicken with mash potatoes and broccoli. Then we went back to the inn and went to bed.

12/10/08

Today we are driving to Nurnberg. We stopped at a German restaurant. I got two meatballs with a type of dark gravy with mushrooms and sauerkraut along with schnitzel. After about 260 kilometers we arrive in Nurnberg. We got a hotel room at the durer hotel. Next we walked to the Christmas village and went to many stands. We got a sandwich with 3 bratwurst and hot mustard. Then we went back to the hotel to drop our stuff off. Next we went back out and went to a restaurant and I got bratwurst and sauerkraut. Then we went to bed.

12/11/08

Today we got up and we drove to Garmish and got a room at a military resort. Then we went out into the city and went through the shops, they have some pretty cool knives. After that we went to a German/ Italian restaurant. I got a pizza base with different sausages, cheese, and vegetables. Then we walked back to the resort, called Edelweiss, and watched TV and went to the game room. Then we went to bed.

12/12/08

Today we got up and ate lunch in the hotel. I got cod, snap peas, pasta, pink lemonade, and a type of cake. Next we went to the Newshwanstein castle. It has many rooms. King Ludwig the second in 1869 built the castle. There are many paintings based on plays on the walls. After we left the castle we realized the car was rear wheel drive and had summer tires. So we had to get a tow truck to come and pick us up. Once we got back to Garmish we went out to eat at a German/ Chinese restaurant, I got the sweet and sour chicken. Then we went to the game room for a little bit and then went to bed.

12/13/08

Today my family and I got up and ate at the hotel’s restaurant. I got the chicken, coke, water, cake, some kind of vegetable, and potatoes. Then we went to the ski resort and rented gear. It turns out skiing is not much different from playing hockey. Next we went back to the hotel and ate. I had fish, roast beef, vegetable medly, chocolate cake, and a coke. Then we went to the game room for a while and got a smoothie. Next we did laundry and went to bed.

12/14/08

Today we got up and walked around the shops. We came upon a pastry shop and decided to go in and get some breakfast. I got a chocolate cake type thing with some of the best hot chocolate and whipped cream I have ever had in my life. Then we walked around and looked at all the ski shops instead of going skiing because my brother got sick. Then we went back to the hotel and swam and got into the hot tub. Then we went to an outback type restaurant at the hotel. I got a hamburger and a coke with fries. Next we played a game of pool. After that we went to the game room for a while then went to bed.

12/15/08

Today we got up and went out into the town. We visited the Olympic ski jump and saw little kids jump the small ramp at practice. Then we went to the Olympic ice rink and looked around. Then we went back to the hotel and went swimming. Next we went to the hotel buffet. After that we went to the game room and played five games of pool. Next we went to bed.

12/16/08

On the way home we drove 6 hours in the fog on the autobahn to Ramstein. When we got there we checked in and got a plane out to BWI. Once we arrived we took a shuttle back to Andrews air force base. Then we drove home.
