Casa di Giuletta, Vérone.

The medieval Italy was long divided between supporters of the emperor and the pope, Guelphs and Ghibellines fought fiercely to resolve the primacy of the temporal power of the heirs of Charlemagne or the spiritual power of the successors of St Peter.

Verona was also divided, and Montecchio Capuleti and directed the two factions, in an episode that might be forgotten today if Romeo Giulietta Capuleti Montecchio and had not loved, and if a certain William Shakespeare never had the immortal Romeo and Juliet, anglicizing crossing their names Montagues and Capulets.

The two lovebirds are now lovers of Verona, and lovers of the world visit the Casa di Giulietta …

The house is not far from Piazza delle Erbe.

The Place des Herbes was once the Roman forum of the ancient city, before becoming the market that sold herbs, and now memories of more or less tasteful await tourists, t-shirts to boast Romeo e Giulietta, and indeed probably better to name the two lovers from Verona the profile of Mussolini Dux, still proposed on the shores of Lake Garda near the nostalgia of the fascist era.

The Via Cappello from the end of the Piazza Erbe, taking the route of one of the two axes of the Roman city, one can also still see a few hundred meters later a Roman gate, now embedded in the wall of a house.

Juliet’s house is closer, near the place of grass, a few tens of meters before you see the facade of brick …

The building is impressive.

The brick facade is high, flanked by a crenellated tower, the street looks good close look at this medieval palace, which was one of the Capulets, and therefore the most famous of them, Giulietta.

It penetrates freely into the yard through a gate, time to complain that too many idiots have seen fit graffiti access to their names, while yet the book of Juliet’s house allows  couples exchange declarations of love and inflamed.

The cobbled courtyard is adorned with a recent statue of Juliet, whose patina said localized enough that the breast has been extensively handled, better yet walk on his hands the body of some sensual sylph, and the whole palace is visible this court.
Two wings still exist, but a wall shows that he was once more, before some newer houses do not insert it, the building is austere except for the famous balcony that Romeo would have climbed …

The balcony is not authentic.

He was assistant in 1935 at the old house, and Romeo Giulietta did not know, and besides the episode of the balcony is certainly more literary than historical, the romantic yet willingly forget that  acts of an anachronism.

That balcony is available for visitors to the house, and sincere lovers will be lovers of Verona, exchanging a passionate kiss, whose intensity and length deliver the murmurs of the crowd of tourists, even a round of applause if l embrace is particularly voluptuous, or an Un altro “(another) inciting a specially if it is languishing!

Verona is a city of lovers, and it is right here more than elsewhere to show, without fearing the reaction of unfortunate and frustrated …
The palace is worth the visit.

The tradition connected with the Capulets, he is in any case certain that is medieval, and the place is full of history, if not Shakespeare’s Verona, it is pleasant to wander through the rooms, scattered with antique furniture and memories of a film of Romeo and Juliet.
One can dream and before the lovers bed, failing to try, not cool it, or leave a message for his Juliet and her Romeo preferred, before turning to an authentic Carcassonne, wedding package, and some ancient frescos.

Most notable are two women assigned to each Paolo Caliari Veronese, another to his studio, leaning over a railing, that of Veronese indicating his hand good, very close to the beautiful Nanni, the the workshop is more clumsy in execution, and bolder in the pose, exposing her breast. The two women were certainly on top of a composition, judging by the looks sink, they are survivors of the mural disappeared …

La casa di Giulietta worth the detour.

It is certainly not demonstrated that the Shakespearean heroine lived there but this palace Veronese far exceeds the tourist traps of rigor in this type of monument, and holds enough to fill genuine art lovers.

As lovers, they will be alone in the world, as befits, and exchange kisses that are not film, is forging memories that nobody can steal …
