Here is a small list of my favourite places in Amsterdam. If you go to Amsterdam, you should absolutely see all those places.

Amsterdam, the capital of Netherlands, is one of the beautiful cities of the world. What makes Amsterdam so beautiful that more than 5 million visits Amsterdam every year. Amsterdam is beautiful because you are free to do everything and there are many activities to take part in. It is also a great city for students who want to take a good education. It is also the city of artizans and museums. Many famous and elite composer or painter comes to city to give concerts or exhibitions. Amsterdam is known as the city of museum. Here is my favourite places which I recommend you to see.

Dam Square and Royal Place:

Dam square and Royal Place are located in the center of Amsterdam. Both has a rich historical background. It is a good place for concerts and artistic activities.

Nieuwe Kerk:

It is the church located next to Royal Palace in Dam Square. Likewise them, it is a historical place from 15th century. Here is also the place where famous poet Vondel was buried.

Rembrant Square:

Another well-known square of Amsterdam. There are many places for shopping activities and also a famous hotel with the same name. However, prizes are a little bit expensive. There are also many pubs, discos and bars for night life lovers.

Van Gogh Museum:

Famous exhibition center of Amsterdam. Every year millions of art lovers and thousands of artizans come to museum for exhibitions. Here is the art center of the city. Famous painter Vicent Van Gogh’s works are exhibited.

Stedelijk Museum:

Center of modern art. It is located at Musem Square and near to Van Gogh Museum. In this museum, the paintings and drawings of Karel Appel and Kazimir Malevich are exhibited.

Where are our lovely coffee shops?
Where zijn de wallen?

Als je ‘t doet doe het dan goed en maak er een ECHT verhaaltje van, je laat nu slechts 1 kant van het mooie A’dam zien :(

Amsterdam is nice, and a trip to the local coffee shop can be quite a unique experience for someone from the United States ;)

Good article but Amsterdam is not the Capital. Its The Hague. Amsterdam is just the commercial center.

Ehm sorry but this photo of the church you are showing as the ‘Nieuwe Kerk’ is actually situated in DELFT!! Wich is close to the Hague and a very intresting, pretty city aswell.

The Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam looks more like this : http://www.eenhelekunst.nl/images/NieuweKerk.jpg

Don’t just google ‘Nieuwe kerk’ because there are more of them!

the picture of the Nieuwe Kerk is incorrect. The one pictured is in the grote markt in Delft. In my opinion, I would replace Rembrandt Square (Rembrandtplein) with the Jordaan…much funkier shops and more of an inside look inside what it means to be Dutch (and less touristy)

Ben, I’m Dutch, Amsterdam in the constitutional capital. The Hague is the political capital. The picture of the nieuwe Kerk is in Delft, it’s black on top due to a fire. The picture of the Rembrandtplein is also incorrect, since it’s a picture of the Reguliersbreestraat, facing away from the Rembrandtplein. In the background of that same picture is the Munttoren where coins were minted.

Great to be in Amsterdam, I’ve been to Delt. Plan your next trip to Amsterdam specially in the countryside area where there are modern and traditional windmills. I would like to share some Amsterdam photos from my profile.
