12 Spectacular Waterfalls in Norway

Here’s a list of the most popular, most visited and most wonderful waterfalls in the beautiful and rich country of Norway in Europe. The Norwegian word “fossen” means falls.
You’ve already seen some of the most popular tourist destinations of Norway. Now, it’s time to see some of its stunning natural beauties – Norway’s most spectacular waterfalls.
1.) Manafossen

The Manafossen is an impressive waterfall situated at the bottom of the fjord Frafjord in Gjestdal of Rogaland. This awesomely beautiful waterfall is fed by the Man River and has a height of 92 meters.
2.) Langfossen

Langfossen is considered by many as one of the world’s best waterfalls. This stunning beauty of nature is located in Etne, a town located in western Norway. This waterfall is about 600 meters tall and European route E134 traverse along the base of Langfossen, making access very easy.
3.) Rjukanfossen

The amazingly beautiful Rjukanfossen is a 104 meter tall waterfall in the town of Tinn, Telemark. It is fed by Mane River, another beautiful tourist attraction in the area.
4.) Vettisfossen

One of the tallest waterfalls located in Norway is the Vettisfossen. This stunning waterfall is located in the Jotunheimen mountain range in Fjordane. It has a single drop of 275 meters and can be reached by 1 hour hike.
5.) Latefossen

Another well-known tourist attraction in Norway is Latefossen or Latefoss. This magnificent waterfall is located in Odda. It has a total height is 165 meters. The water fall is a well known tourist attraction in the area. This fall is unique in that it consists of two separate streams from its source that meets in the middle of the water fall.
6.) Steinsdalsfossen

The impressive Steinsdalsfossen, a waterfall located in Haedanger, is one of Norway’s most visited natural attractions. Behind the waterfall, there is a path where visitors can walk dryshod “into” the rumbling water. The waterfall is about 50 meters in height.
7.) Feigfossen

The captivating Feigefossen is a waterfall located in Sogn og Fjordane. This beautiful county where Feigefossen is located is bordered by More og Romsdal, Oppland, Buskerud and Hordaland.
8.) Voringfossen

One of the most popular and most visited waterfalls in Norway is Voringfossen. This beauty of nature is 183 meters in height and is located in Eidfjord. Above the falls, there is a hydroelectric dam which reduces the flow of water during summer
9.) Mardalsfossen

The 705 meter tall Mardalsfossen, a tiered waterfall, is one of Europe’s 10 highest waterfalls. It consists of two large drops and several smaller ones. Its highest vertical drop is 358 meters tall with an average width of 24 meters.
10.) Kjosfossen

Kjosfossen is an awesomely beautiful waterfall located in Aurland, Sogn og Fjordane. This splendid beauty is one of Norway’s most visited tourist attractions. It has a height of 225 meters.
11.) Stigfossen

Stigfossen is a beautiful waterfall in Rauma. There is large parking place near the area and a viewing balcony which overlooks the falls and Trollstigen, an impressive road with many sharp bends. Stigfossen is a beautiful waterfall which falls 320 meters down the mountain side.
12.) Seven Sisters Waterfalls

Just the name itself of the Seven Sisters Waterfall is enough to consider it a natural beauty worth visiting. This waterfall is consists of seven separate streams with the tallest measuring about 250 meters tall. This splendid waterfall is located in Geirangerfjord. The waterfall is also known as Friaren.
