In this article, we will tour the sunny resort island of Mallorca – off the eastern coast of Spain. The tour will include information about the island’s climate, geography, entertainment and its sprawling real estate.
Mallorca’s Tourism/Geography
Mallorca, or Majorca, is one of Europe’s top vacation spots. Every year, approximately 15 million people come to see the wonders of this lovely island. Geographically, the island is small, but is big on fun and leisure. The island is located nearly 200km from the mainland – Spain – the motherland and is easy to get to by both sea and air. The fastest way to get there is to take a ferry from Barcelona or Valencia, another Spanish city. The climate of Mallorca is generally warm and sunny all year round – making your planned holidays to Mallorca even more better.
Mallorca’s People/Language
The island is home to the rich and famous, as well as ordinary people, who make their living, primarily, from the fishing trade. They all own nice properties in Mallorca. The main languages of the island are Catalan and Spanish, although the local dialect is Mallorqui.

On this island, you will find plenty of sights to see. One of these tourist on sites is the foreboding Castell de Bellver. The castle sits on property, located oh a hill, which overlooks the island’s capital city of Palma. The castle was built in the 14th century and for a long time, served as a prison to house an array of Spanish and foreign peoples. Another Mallorcan place of interest is the La Seu – a Christian cathedral that sits on property that once held a mosque. The cathedral is located in Palma and was built in 1229 by King James I of Aragon (completed in 1601.)
Mallorca’s Entertainment/Nightlife
The island’s entertainment/nightlife consists of live music, sporting events, and nighttime activities. If you love water sports, you should visit Aqualand. The water park is located in Parma and offers it guests an array of pool and other water activities. The park is open every year from May to October. However, if you love the beach, the island has 179 of them for you to enjoy. There, you can enjoy a good sunbath, stay at one of the many beachside properties there, or head out to sea for some real fun! If you’re looking for a night on the town, head out to the Son Amar, the longest, running nightshow on the island.
Mallorca’s Eating Places
You should know before your planned holiday(s) to Mallorca, the island has quite a few high-end restaurants where you can satisfy your taste for local and international cuisines. One of these restaurants is St. Ambros, in Placa Salvador. The restaurant serves its patrons an array of Italian cuisine. The La Poule au Pot is another high-end where you can eat a good meal. Their primary cuisines are of the French style. This restaurant is also located in Palma.
Mallorca’s Real Estate
The island is also known for its luxurious real estate. The Majorcan properties range from apartments, penthouses, condominiums, regular sized homes, and villas.
