Sagrada Familia, Barcelona

The cathedral church of the Holy Family in Barcelona is an awe-inspiring sight. Here are some pictures with brief comments on this famous building in the heart of Spain.
The Cathedral is still under construction but from the pictures I took with a basic digital camera you can get a feel for what it will be like when it is finally complete. It really is a beautiful building and I am sure that those of future generations will fully appreciate the ability to partake in Mass in these surroundings.

As you can see from the crane the final and tallest spire has yet to be finished.

This entrance shows off the unique character of Guadi’s cathedral.

These pictures are from the opposite entrance and shows off the elaborate stone carving.

Inside the cathedral you can see the building work going on.

The stained glass windows are a sight in themselves.

These images really don’t do justice to the scale of the place.

To finish a picture of the cathedral (sorry I chopped off the cross at the top!) giving you an artist’s impression of what the finished building will look like.

If you ever get a chance to gp to Barcelona then the Sagrada Familia (Holy Family) really is worth a visit. These picture really do not convey the size, colour and majesty of the place.
