HAVEN OF LUXURY AND PEACE.

The new holiday development of Brompton Lakes, near Richmond in North Yorkshire, is reminiscent of a John Constable painting.

It consists of 10 nicely sited and secluded chalets on a shrub-lined lake.  Each is a high roofed building with a magnificent open plan kitchen and living area.  They have wooden floors and a full glass frontage, which allows viewing of the area.

There are three bedrooms (one en-suite) and a family bathroom. The decor is individualist pieces of art, luscious fabrics and hand-painted furniture and they come equipped with flatscreen TV and DVD player

An area of decking complete with table, chairs and umbrella extends over the lake, just right for that evening drink.

All chalets are eco-friendly with the roofs being topped by living grass, while a wood-burning stove gives six hours of hest on a single filling and geo-thermal heat pumps provide under-floor heating and hot water.  The utility room contains a washer/drier.

Visitors are met with a welcome pack of wines and the finest local produce.  They can hire to come and cook a three-course meal in the chalet or they travel to Richmond and enjoy a meal out.

Fishing is allowed on the lake or the River Swale.  Other leisure activities include tennis courts, mountain biking and a children’s play area. Brompton Lakes make an ideal base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and there is an abundance of tourists attractions, country houses and museums in the area.

There are plans to build another 10 chalets.
