A guide to the Wet “N” Wild Fun Complex at North Shields.
WET ‘N’ Wild on the Royal Quays at North Shields on the River Tyne is the largest and most exciting indoor water fun park in Europe.
Their facilities include high tech computerised flumes with sound and light effects, hilarious raft rides, a drifting lazy river, breath taking watery Kami Kazi Drops, rolling wave effects and bubbling jacuzzis.
Discovery Island is an interactive play island, that has been developed with the help of educational experts for youngsters aged between two and seven. Wet ‘N’ Wild has a relaxing licensed terrace diner where customers have a chance to escape from all the excitement.
The Flume Tower with its nine rides is over 70 feet high. The main ride features start at three different levels, the lowest of which being twice the height of normal leisure pool flume rides. Floor One Level rides are suitable for all visitors who do not have any medical problems.
Wet ‘N’ wild has up to 15 personnel supervising the park, all of whom are trained up to a least the Bronze Medallion standard of the Royal Life Saving Association. All in all the centre employs 110 full and part time staff attending to the needs of visitors.
The centre is open from 10:00 to 21:00 from Sunday to Thursday, 10:00 to 22:00 on Fridays, Saturdays, Bank Holidays and during the school holidays.

The park has parking for 300 cars and coaches and a maximum of 1,100 customers is admitted to the park at any one time.
An interactive ride map is now available and entrance payments cover stays of all day if desired, though the average length of stay is estimated at about five hours.
