Pictures of the Rest of the World: Aberdeen Interlude

The first in a series of pictures of beautiful places that you don’t see in travelogues.

Why is the net full of pictures of hot sunny places or snow covered scenes?  What’s wrong with the rest of the world?

I took this pickture through the window of Books and Beans, a cafe/book shop in my home town of Aberdeen.  To me this is beautiful in a quiet way.  I love the blue-grey light and the way the damp pavement reflect’s the thin light.

I didn’t go out looking to take a picture.  I was sitting in the window of the cafe waiting for my brother when the beauty of the view struck me and I decided to try to capture it on my camera phone.  I did not expect it to come out at all well.  It thought it would be too dark but perhaps that thin blue light works well with a digital camera.

I’d like to see some more pictures of accidental beauty on the net.
