Majestic Mountains

An overall view of some of the most regal mountains in the world.

         All the mountains on this planet we appreciate. We look at their beauty and some of us even have unbelievable adventures trying to conquer them. You must understand though, mountains have been changing the earth’s crust in it’s formation now for millions of years. These changes do occur very slowly, but after millions of years they do drastically change the earths landscape. This is a picturesque tour of mountains from all over the world.

Mount Everest is located between Nepal and Tibet. It was formed over 60 million years ago. The first ascent of Mount Everest was made by Sir Edmund Hillary on May 29, 1953. The first ascent of Mount Everest made by a woman was made by Junko Tabei on May 16, 1975.

The Smoky Mountains range are located in the states of North Carolina and Tennessee of the United States. The incredible vegetation combines with the oil of all the beautiful pine trees to create a vapor with the moisture in the air to give it a smokey look, which of course gives it the name, Smoky Mountains.

Pilatus is a mountain near Lucerne located in Switzerland. You can reach the top of this mountain by the world’s steepest cogwheel railway from Alpnachstad. This railway only operates through from May through November.

Mount McKinley is located in Alaska. It is in Denali National Park. At 20,320 feet tall, it is the tallest mountain in the United States.

The Yellow Mountains are located in China. There are over 1500 kinds of plant life located on these mountains and over 500 kinds of animals located within these mountains. Many people take cable cars up into these mountains, while others hike. Some people enjoy taking a bath in the hot springs on the mountains after climbing them

Torres Del Paine National Park sits between Chile and Argentina. This photo was taken at dawn, this effect only lasts for about twenty minutes before disappearing for the entire day.

Mount Nanga Parbat is located in Pakistan. The first ascent of Nanga Parbat was made by an Austrian climber by the name of Herman Buhl on July 3, 1953.

The Watkins Range are located in Greenland. They have just not only ice covered peaks but also many exposed cliffs. Many experienced climbers do come here.

Mount Rainer is in the state of Washington in the Untied States. It is over 14,000 feet high. It is part of the Cascade Mountain Range. This mountain is climbed by more than 2,500 people every year. It is also an active volcano.

These are the German Alps in Germany. The tranquil lake is Konigssee, it is the deepest lake in Germany. It is surrounded by the beautiful mountains on all sides.
