Monuments are all over the place and each one stands for something different.  Here is a look at some the  bizarre monuments located around the world.

The Headington Shark located in Headington, Oxfordshire in the United Kingdom, is a 25-foot shark that looks as though it crashed into a houses roof.  Bill Heine, the owner of the house designed the shark in remembrance of the dropping of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki.

Sculptor Jason de Caires created the worlds first Underwater Sculpture Park at Moliniere Bay in Grenada.  His Underwater Sculpture Park represents ecological process and serves as an artificial reef.  After being  created above water, the sculptures were submerged in clear shallow waters.  The sculptures are accessible by snorkeling or scuba diving.  They can also be seen if traveling in a glass bottom boat.

The Standterhebungs Monument was created in 1988 to commemorate and remind those of the 1288 Battle of Worringen.  This bronze monument is located in the old town section of Dusseldorf, Germany.  It has a great amount of detail that is both fascinating as well as creepy.

As a tribute to a medical procedure commonly done, a health spa in Russia had an Enema monument created.  Alexander Kharchenko, the head of the facility, said that the health spa specializes in illnesses of the digestion tract and administers enemas nearly every day.  Kharchenko though that it would be humorous to give the procedure its own monument.  The Enema monument, designed by Svetlana Avakova, was unveiled in June of 2008.

The Broken Chair Monument, located in Geneva, is a 39 foot tall wooded monument constructed by carpenter Louis Geneve and Swiss artist Daniel Berset.  It is called the Broken Chair because it only has three good legs.  The fourth leg is broken off about half way up it.  The chair was erected in August 1997 in front of the Place de Nations by Handicap International.  The Broken Chair represents those who oppose to cluster bombs and land mines.  It also serves as a reminder to politicians that visit Geneva.
