You will find many locations that display expensive antiques and collectibles. However, when a location states that they are kid friendly, you should prepare for just that. Consider that a bed and breakfast is basically someone’s home that has been converted into private guest quarters. In this case, you must understand that having up to ten children in house can create chaos and a loud environment, just as it would in your own home.

Bed And Breakfast VS Hotel for Service

In most cases, a Bed and Breakfast will have most of the same service standards as a hotel. You may actually receive better treatment, since the person you will be dealing with is usually the owner. As the owner, they will want to ensure that you enjoy your stay and recommend them for future business. However, there a few things that are different at a Bed and Breakfast. You will most likely need to arrive earlier in the day. While most owners will make special consideration, you should be aware that someone has to get up and let you in the door if you arrive in the middle of the night.

Amenities at a Bed and Breakfast

The amenities you will find at a Bed and Breakfast will vary, but in most cases they will be very different than at a hotel. You will often find the amenities in your room have much more to offer than at a hotel. However, in most cases there will be less to do as far as pools or golf courses. At the same time, most locations will have nature trails or outdoor offerings. Most Bed and Breakfasts are located close to other attractions and simply provide a place to stay, not the entertainment as well.

Price Comparison

In most cases, the price for a room at a Bed and Breakfast will be very comparable to that at a hotel. However, some hotels will charge higher rates during the week for business travelers, while this is the least expensive time for traveler at a Bed and Breakfast. Most locations will book in advance for weekends or special events, but you can often find a great deal if you are willing to book in advance. You may even get a reduced price if it is a slow time of year.
