Top Five Cheapest Vacationing Spots

A list of the top five least inexpensive vacationing spots.

1. Yellow Stone National Park.

My opinion of the both the cheapest and the most exciting vacationing spot is Yellow Stone National Park, located in northwestern Wyoming.  America’s first national park, it was established in 1872, and continues to be a huge tourist attraction.  You can visit the world-famous Old Faithful geyser and peer down the cliffs of the 1,200 foot deep Grand Canyon.  It also has abundant wildlife including grizzly bears, elk, American bison, grey wolves, and moose.

2. Daytona Beach.

Located on the Atlantic coast of Florida, Daytona Beach stays warm year around so you can visit it not only in the summer, but every other season too.  You can drive your car along the 500 foot beach and visit the historical brick lighthouse, Ponce de Leon Intel Light.  If you ever get tired of the beach, you can always buy a ticket for the Daytona 500 race, which is held yearly.

3. Las Vegas.

Nothing feels better than the bright lights and late nights at Las Vegas.  Some may think that it is expensive to spend a week in Las Vegas, but that is only true if you spend it in 5-STAR hotels and gamble your whole retirement fund away.  There is a lot more to Las Vegas than just the bright lights and classy hotels.  You can travel high above the desert on zip-lines and find beautiful gem stones in Death Valley.

4. Chicago City.

Standing on the Sears Tower is probably one of the best experiences in the world.  You can feel the wind whipping at you face and to tower rocking from side to side.  You can also visit the Navy Pier and ride on the 150-foot Ferris Wheel.  The overall appearance of Chicago as a big city makes me feel wonderful.

5. Washington D.C.

Besides Washington D.C. being the capitol of the United States and the president living in the White House there, there is another side to this capitol city.  You can buy a hot dog from one of the many stands and tour the city by foot.  There are wonderful museums that you can visit and large parks where you can let your dog run loose.  It is a architecturally beautiful city.

I agree about DC being that I’m a washingtonian and they have hundreds of free things you can do like parks, free concerts at the Kennedy Center and free entrance to the Smithsonian Museums. If you want cheap accommodation, I would check out HostelsClub which has discounted private rooms at a 3 star hotel walking distance to the attractions!
