Clothes and Weather

This is a short piece of writing about what to wear.

Many times we leave our beautiful islands in the Caribbean, to move to another place. Back home,  we were used to spring and summer. We used to wear shorts, miniskirts and sandals almost all year around. Also when it was time to buy new clothes back home, our favorite colors were red, green and yellow. One thing we have to think about when we move to another place is the weather.

It has been my experience that people in places like New York, U.S.A., wear dark colors like, black, navy blue and  grey in fall and winter. There are also people that like to wear brown during these cold seasons. They have to think about their shoes for those days when it snows.Of course they also need coats, hats, gloves and scarves. These last four items should match and are necessary, in order to survive temperatures below zero degrees. For some people the clod weather and the extra clothes they have to wear, can be a problem. One of their reasons is that they need more space in their closets for the fall and winter clothes. For others having to use different clothes during fall and winter can be an excuse to go shopping. It does not matter if it is hot or cold in the place you are going to live, be sure you have everything you need in your closet. Do not forget that it is important to protect yourself from the weather, at the same time, think about fashion.
