I totally agree, traveling for people with disabilities is very challenging and risky but life without risk and challenges can be quite boring!
What can compare to the experience, the adventure and the excitement that we get from travel! But recently I have come across many fellow friends dying to explore the world yet can’t just because of their disabilities! Nothing should come between you and travel, have you forgotten that phrase ‘Live loves to be ridden to the fullest’!
I totally agree, traveling for people with disabilities is very challenging and risky but life without risk and challenges can be quite boring! Lets leave our fear aside and explore the world and be a part of this wonderful word call ‘travelers’, no matter who you are, where you are from and what you are! Here are some travel tips for people with disabilities:
· Advance planning is the most important of all. After choosing where you want to go, research in detail about the destinations, such as where to stay, what to see and do, where to eat, shop and party. Before heading out to you destination, you must also planned out wisely and arrange things like, how to travel from the airport to you hotel, whether the hotel you are staying has facilities for disabled travelers and so on.
· When purchasing your flight tickets, you must ask the travel agent or if booking directly the airline booking agent about the services that you will receive, ask them whether they can provide you with special assistance at the airport.
· Don’t forget to research whether you will be requiring any immunizations or medications. Please hook up with a good travel insurance policy.
· For those who will be needing the help of a service dog, do research well in advance whether you are allowed to travel with your service dog. As there are some countries that does not allow service dogs.
Well these are the simple tips and trick that you should follow. If you have an experience, ideals or tips, do share it with other fellow travelers by posting it as a comment. Lets all make travel more hassle free!
