| HRAG is proposing to build a Motor Sports Arena, to provide much needed entertainment for young people in the town.
We would like to build a 400 metre tarmac oval track, to host Banger Racing, Stock Cars, Hot Rods and Mini-Stox, a formula created to enable boys and girls of 11 to 16 to race in standard minis with a protective metal frame. Dean Archer, chairman of HRAG says : “I want something in Hatfield that people can be proud of. “It gets the kids off the streets and solves the problem of abandoned cars and there will also be plenty of business brought to Hatfield. We are always moaning that the kids have nothing to do – let’s do something about it.” The motor sports complex would feature Oval Racing, Karting and a permanent home for the WHEELS Project thus benefitting the community. It would also be used for corporate events to recoup some of the cost of its construction, estimated to be around £500,000. |
