Rollin, Rollin, Rollin, are we there yet?
Rollin, Rollin, Rollin, are we there yet? Truly getting there depends on the axle, and the rubber. You see, way back in the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, there was a road called mystery road of your town. It went from Dubious to Advertureton, South Carolina, which it connected to interstate 8 where it would lead you into Charleston, South Carolina. The mayor of Dubious, and the Governor of South Carolina decided, let’s expand our road into a super highway, and make way for commercial traffic, therefore, bringing in more revenue for the state of South Carolina. So the 1970’s, blueprints were drawn up to see just how the highway would look, and careful listening of the engineers involved in the project with illustrations and presentations.
It was suggested, why just have a super highway, why not remodel, and have two new towns. Progress was steadily being thought of, but how did the citizens feel living in Dubious and Advertureton, and what impact would it have on them? So a town hall meeting was called as citizen after citizen spoke on their concerns. Some were crazy over the idea, and while others put the thumbs down. However, it was determined, you can’t stop progress nor fight county hall. The project of the new super highway went on according to schedule. Meanwhile, maneuvering carefully, the construction of the concrete, steel and signs were placed in precise measurement and equation. In the 1980, the road finally became a reality, and was officially commemorating with a ribbon cutting ceremony conducted by the Mayor of Dubious, Governor of South Carolina, and numerous elected officials. The road was not called, “ Dubious-Advertureton Interchange. Once the ceremony was over, commercial traffic proceeded, and a quiet town became a busy transporting hub. Business boomed for the state of South Carolina, and for the two towns. The wheel met the new road, while the directional finder was where the road leads me.
